Yellow brucite is a magnesium hydroxide mineral with the formula Mg(OH)2. First described by François Sulpice Beudant in 1824, it honors American mineralogist Archibald Bruce. Its vivid lemon-yellow color makes this “Lemonhead” variety especially eye-catching.

Killa Saifullah District lies in northwestern Balochistan, about 135 km north of Quetta, within the Zhob Valley ophiolite belt and its associated sedimentary rocks. The district is known for extensive chromite and magnesite mining in the Muslim Bagh ophiolitic complex, whose mantle section includes peridotite and dunite. Its standout collector mineral is brucite, notably collected near Ekhai south of Nisai, where it occurs with peridotite in the mantle section of the Muslim Bagh Ophiolite. The area also hosts a range of gemstones, making Killa Saifullah an important locality for specimens from Pakistan’s distinctive ophiolite terrain.
