Buena Tierra Mine is in Francisco Portillo in the West Camp of the Santa Eulalia Mining District, in Aquiles Serdán Municipality, Chihuahua, Mexico. The district is one of Mexico’s major silver and base-metal provinces and the West Camp is known for massive sulfide manto and chimney orebodies, with local skarn mineralization. Santa Eulalia is especially famous among collectors for its lead-zinc-silver ores and world-class rhodochrosite and other oxidized-zone specimens from the West Camp. Buena Tierra Mine is part of this collectible mineral district and is associated with the same productive geologic setting that has yielded sought-after specimens from nearby workings.
