An interesting “garden Quartz” with Chlorite inclusions, giving it a great texture and landscape, with a few isolated darker Rutile crystals shooting across the crystal.
Minas Gerais is a state in southeastern Brazil whose name means “General Mines,” and it is one of the country’s most important mineral-producing regions. Collectors know it especially for the Quadrilátero Ferrífero, a roughly 7,000-square-kilometer iron district in central Minas Gerais that has long been the focus of major iron ore and related mineral deposits. The state also includes well-known localities such as Ouro Preto and the Golconda pegmatite field, areas associated with classic Brazilian mineral occurrences and specimen sources. Today, Minas Gerais remains highly relevant to collectors for its historic mining districts and its wide range of iron, pegmatite, and zinc mineralization.
