Elbaite is a lithium-bearing tourmaline species with formula Na(Li1.5Al1.5)Al6(Si6O18)(BO3)3(OH)3(OH). It was named for Elba Island, Italy, and first formally described in 1913 by Vladimir Ivanovich Vernadsky.
Indicolite is a blue gem variety of tourmaline, usually elbaite or fluor-elbaite. The name comes from its indigo-blue color, and it was first described as a mineral name in 1892 by Waldemar Schaller.
