This stone is believed to have heat treatment to stabilize the crystal and to enhance the color.
Andesine-labradorite is a plagioclase feldspar in the sodium-calcium series, with composition between andesine and labradorite. Andesine was originally described from Marmato Mine, Colombia, and named for the Andes Mountains; labradorite was named for Labrador, Canada, after its occurrence there.
