A classic look from one of the most notable mining areas in the world. This Fluorite has slight daylight fluorescence, and a feint yellow color. Without its tags, it could quite easily be confused with many of the older UK Fluorite localities.
The Lady Annabella Mine is in the former Eastgate Quarry at Eastgate in Weardale, County Durham, England, within the upper part of the Carboniferous Great Limestone Formation. It opened in July 2020 as a specimen-mining operation focused on collector fluorite and associated minerals, and it is part of the broader Weardale orefield, a district long known for significant mineral deposits. The locality has produced fluorite from pockets such as Fairy Holes Pocket and other vein workings, with notable crystallized specimens of interest to collectors today.
