Size: Gemstone - 10 × 6.97 × 4.76 mm
This gemstone has excellent banding from color zones caused by changes in radiation and iron exposure during its growth. This gemstone does have a very small chip near the point.
Amethyst is a violet to purple variety of quartz, with the formula SiO2. Its name comes from Greek for “not drunk,” and it was first described in ancient times as a stone thought to ward off intoxication. Its color is the birthstone purple of February.
