Lemon Quartz is a greenish-yellow variety of quartz (SiO2) formed by gently heating smoky quartz, a process clarified in the late 1990s through lab experiments. It is often artificially irradiated from Brazilian quartz and is sometimes confused with citrine, though true lemon quartz has a distinct greenish hue unlike the straw-yellow of natural citrine.
