Locality: Sidi Ayed (Sidi Ayad), Boulemane Caïdat, Boulemane Cercle, Boulemane Province, Fès-Meknès Region, Morocco

This piece has a nice pocket of druzy azurite, and smatterings of botryoidal malachite and azurite all over.

Azurite and malachite are secondary copper minerals, and both were historically used as pigments before becoming prized collector minerals.

Sidi Ayed (Sidi Ayad), located 8.5 km NNW of Aouli in Boulemane Province, Morocco, is part of the geologically significant Upper Moulouya lead district in the Middle Atlas. This locality is renowned for producing exceptional fluorite specimens, often accompanied by quartz and baryte, which are highly prized by collectors for their clarity and vibrant color. The area also yields notable quartz and has been associated with vanadinite occurrences within the broader Boulemane Province. Its relevance to collectors today stems from its consistent production of high-quality fluorite that exemplifies the unique mineralogy of this Moroccan lead district.
