This natural bi-color sapphire is a gem variety of corundum (Al₂O₃) that displays two distinct colors, blue and yellow, within the same crystal . While sapphire most commonly refers to blue corundum, the term includes all non-red varieties, and bi-color specimens are prized for their unique dual-hue appearance . Unlike many sapphires that require heat treatment, some natural bi-color stones show their colors without enhancement, making them especially desirable to collectors .
