This strikingly saturated Watermelon Tourmaline is a complete slice, despite it appearing as partial. The banding of green Elbaite pills you in even deeper.
Watermelon tourmaline is a color-zoned variety of tourmaline, typically elbaite, fluor-elbaite, or liddicoatite, with a pink or red core and green rim. The name was coined by George Robeley Howe and first appeared in print in a 1910 Maine newspaper, inspired by its watermelon-like colors.
