This lot of Fluorite on Quartz is Epimorphed, meaning the Quartz grew on another mineral, possibly Calcite, then the Calcite disolved, then Fluorite grew as a last generation. 3 specimens, ranging from 2.2-3.7cm long.
Tombstone Mining District lies in the Tombstone Hills of southwestern Cochise County, Arizona, about 25 miles northwest of Bisbee and is best known as Arizona’s historic silver camp. It was the first major mining district discovered in Cochise County after the Indian reservation issue was resolved, and from 1879 to 1932 it produced more than 29.8 million ounces of silver along with major lead and gold output, plus copper, zinc, and manganese. The district’s most collectible material is tied to silver-dominated mineralization hosted in the Bisbee Group, which made Tombstone famous and continues to make it a notable source locality for collectors today.
