Fluorite is a calcium fluoride mineral, CaF2.
This is a gemmy twinned fluorite from the Fairy Holes Pocket at the now closed Lady Annabella Mine. The first photo is taken outside under indirect sunlight.
The, now closed, Lady Annabella Mine is in Eastgate Quarry at Eastgate in Weardale, County Durham, England, within the former Blue Circle Cement Quarry. It opened in July 2020 to work the upper Great Limestone Formation of Carboniferous age and is chiefly known to collectors for fluorite, with associated galena, calcite, quartz, hydrocerussite, and siderite. The locality has already produced named pockets such as Purple Rain Pocket and remains relevant for specimen collecting because it targets fluorite-bearing veins in a classic Weardale limestone setting.
