Stellerite is a hydrous calcium aluminum silicate zeolite, Ca4(Si28Al8)O72·28H2O, in the stilbite subgroup. It was first described in 1909 from Medny Island and named for Georg Wilhelm Steller, the German explorer and zoologist.
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Division, formerly Aurangabad Division, is one of Maharashtra’s six divisions and lies in the Marathwada region, covering about 64,590 square kilometers and including the districts of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Beed, Hingoli, Jalna, Latur, Nanded, Osmanabad, and Parbhani. Collector interest in the division is tied more to its broad locality framework than to a single famous specimen mine, with Mindat documenting mineral occurrences such as stilbite-Na from Bidkin and other district-level localities within the division. The area is relevant today as a searchable geographic umbrella for mineral localities and specimen provenance across central Maharashtra, especially for collectors tracking finds by district and tehsil rather than by one standalone deposit.
