Wulfenite is a rare lead molybdate mineral with the formula Pb(MoO4), prized for vivid red-orange, tabular crystals. This classic specimen comes from Arizona’s Red Cloud Mine, renowned for exceptional examples. Its thin, windowpane-like crystals and striking color make wulfenite a standout for mineral collectors.

Red Cloud Mine lies in the Silver Mining District of La Paz County, Arizona, a historic vein deposit worked from the early 1880s for silver, lead, zinc, gold, and vanadium. Its mineralized veins and vugs contain argentiferous galena, silver halides, pyrolusite, vanadinite, wulfenite, malachite, fluorite, quartz, and calcite. The mine is especially renowned for bright red-orange, tabular wulfenite crystals, including exceptional specimens reaching about 2 inches across.
