Hitting the darker red/orange side of the spectrum, this Spessartine is a modified oval cut. Spessartine is a manganese aluminum garnet, with the formula Mn3Al2(SiO4)3. It was first described by Martin Klaproth in 1797 from the Spessart Mountains, and François Sulpice Beudant renamed it in 1832 after that locality.
